Carer Happiness Report 2025

Carer Happiness Report

At Bright Care, we believe that later life should be full of joy and purpose and that starts with the people who make it happen, our Care Assistants.

Each year, we send out an employee questionnaire to all our Care Assistants. It’s a chance for them to tell us what’s working well and where we can do better. We’re delighted that this year, 73% of our Bright Carers responded to our 2025 employee engagement survey and we received hugely positive feedback.

Happiness Score

We’re thrilled to report that 86% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed with positive statements about their experience including; I enjoy my job, I am recognised and praised for doing good work and morale is high in my team

Here are a few things they told us:

“All the members of the team I work for are very kind, treat me with respect and are concerned about my wellbeing.”

“I love the feeling of making a positive difference in someone’s life and bringing them happiness!”

“Being part of a team of normal, ordinary, yet extraordinary people.”

The best things about working for Bright Care

We asked our Care Assistants what they like most about working for Bright Care. The most common responses included: my clients, my colleagues and wider team, feeling supported, longer visits (2 hours or more) and knowing they are making a difference.

Overall experience

As part of the employee engagement survey, we asked our Care Assistants to describe their time at Bright Care in three words. The most common answers included: Happy, Proud, Valued, Supportive, and Satisfying. Lindsay McClive, Head of Operations, who wrote the report said:

“We are delighted with these results and the positive experience our Cares have at Bright Care. We invest heavily in our staff and it is so encouraging to hear the lovely things they have to say about their work. Of course, the most important element is acting upon the feedback to help us work on getting better, year on year. The responses really provide us with valuable insights to guide us on these iterative improvements. A huge thanks to all who took the time to respond and share their thoughts.”
