Bright Care Awards 2025

Last week we held our Bright Care Awards Ceremony at the Sky Bar in Edinburgh. Staff travelled from our branches across Scotland and England for an opportunity to celebrate the contribution of all our office staff to the success of Bright Care.

Tim Cocking, Founder and Managing Director said:

“The importance of regularly getting together as one team cannot be underestimated. Team camaraderie and fun are a vital part of Bright Care’s success and what keeps people energised and motivated to keep working hard to bring joy into the homes of our customers every day. People work hard in this business and it’s right that they are rewarded and celebrated for their contributions to the success of Bright Care.”

With Edinburgh Castle as a fabulous backdrop, staff heard some important company updates and enjoyed a delicious three course dinner before the winners were announced. Staff have been working towards these awards throughout 2024 and it is incredibly important to recognise and reward effort and hard work and those living the Bright Care values.

Award winners

Extra Special Contribution Awards

Lee Mills, Branch Manager, Aberdeen

Lee joined Bright Care in 2019 after a career in the retail industry. She is the definition of home grown talent, working her way up through the business from Care Manager in Broughty Ferry to successfully opening and running our new Aberdeen Branch. Lee has shown incredible grit and determination as well as a healthy competitive spirit for sales, growth, and achieving any challenges put her way.

Karen Togher, Staff Trainer, Bright Care Training Academy

Karen joined Bright Care as a Care Assistant in 2021, joining the Training Academy in 2023. When the previous Training Manager moved on last year, Karen stepped up, ensuring the smooth running of the Training Academy. She has embodied Bright Care ‘Own It’ value, using her initiative and taking control of everything that needs done.

Keira Scambler, Care Manager, Cranleigh and Horsham

Keira joined Bright Care as a Care Assistant in 2016, quickly progressing to Care Manager and then Branch Manager. She knows the business inside out and there is no role she couldn’t turn her hand to. Most recently, she has taken responsibility for our company events, organising two extremely successful team get aways at Boreland and now our Awards Ceremony. Keira has proven herself time and again, delivering everything she turns her hand to with excellence.

Tim said:

“Every single person working for Bright Care is of high calibre and brings a unique and valuable contribution. All our staff should be immensely proud of their service they provide to our customers, the support they provide to each other and the company they are helping to build. We are extra proud this year of all of our winners who have worked extremely hard to make it to the top of the Branch League against our core KPIs and for our three Extra Special Contribution Award winners too for their outstanding contribution.”

We finished off the night, dancing to a superb live band. Our Bright Care Awards Ceremony was an excellent reminder that although the team is spread across Scotland and England, we are all contributing to the shared goal of bringing joy to later years and are truly part of ‘One Team’ who value and support one another.
